The Toronto Singing Studio is proud to announce the new Musical Theatre Workshop for Adults.
Do you love Broadway shows? Have you ever dreamed of being on stage, singing, dancing and delivering funny, or serious, or romantic lines in a play? Then you are a perfect candidate for this program!
Musical theatre training is often described as ‘triple threat’, meaning that a proficiency of three separate skill sets is developed. These skills are singing, dancing and acting.
This new TTSS pilot program’s beginning segment kicks off this Fall with the Musical Theatre Training Course, a 10-week triple threat intensive class (for beginner-to-intermediate performers) that culminates in an informal revue show in late November. Each class will be 2.5 hours long, for a total of 25 hours over ten weeks of training. Guest instructors will bring their professional expertise and experience to classes in acting, movement & dance, choreography and both dramatic & vocal improvisation. Be prepared to work hard!
The Winter session will be the new Music Theatre Workshop Ensemble (auditioned) in a 12-week (30 hour) advanced level course that focusses on a final public performance of a fully-staged, ‘juke-box’-style musical which will be written for this ensemble. The show will be performed in an Annex neighborhood community theatre in early April.
Planning is still being finalized and is subject to change. Look for more updates and details to be posted here over the summer.
